Dr. Lee was born and raised in Southern California. He graduated from the University of California at Berkeley where he majored in Molecular & Cell Biology and minored in Business Administration. He obtained his medical degree from the Albany Medical College in New York.
Pursuing warmer climates, Dr. Lee completed an extensive General Surgery residency at the University of South Florida College Of Medicine in Tampa, Florida. There, he underwent cutting-edge training in surgical oncology at the world-renown Moffitt Cancer Center, dealing with skin and breast malignancies as well as gastrointestinal disorders. During this general surgical training period, he spent 5 + years taking care of critically ill patients both as a trauma surgeon and surgical critical care intensivist.
His creative nature, however, directed him towards a career in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, and eventually to complete his training at the Wake Forest University School of Medicine. Being in one of the top residency programs in the country allowed him the opportunity to perform over 2000 plastic/cosmetic and reconstructive procedures during the last two years of his training.
Dr. Lee is a true plastic and reconstructive surgeon, having been trained to deal with all parts of the human body. His training spanned the realms of craniofacial, burn, breast and tumor reconstructive, hand and soft tissue trauma, congenital deformity, cleft lip and palate, microscopic, and aesthetic surgery. Dr. Lee is board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, the only board recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties to perform aesthetic surgery of the entire face, breast, and body. He is a member of the Greater Sacramento Society of Plastic Surgeons, the California Medical Association, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, Inc., and the California Society of Plastic Surgeons, Inc.
Although aesthetic procedures are performed in our office-based operating suites to provide patient privacy and convenience, Dr. Lee has hospital privileges to perform aesthetic procedures at Mercy San Juan Medical Center and Sutter Roseville Medical Center. Dr. Lee strongly encourages any prospective patient to ask whether their surgeon has been credentialed to perform their intended procedure at a major hospital.
